Introduction

CrowdValue ("we," "our," or "us") is a Chrome extension that allows users to view and share comments and opinions about real estate listings on Zillow. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension.

Information We Collect

1. Authentication Information

• Google Account Email: When you sign in using Google OAuth, we collect your email address for authentication purposes only.
• Username: We assign you a unique, friendly username (e.g., "Curious Buyer 123") that is displayed publicly with your comments and votes. You can customize this username at any time through your profile settings.

2. User-Generated Content

• Comments: Text content you post about real estate listings.
• Replies: Responses to other users' comments.
• Votes: Your bracket pricing votes on property valuations (e.g., voting if a property is overpriced, fairly priced, or underpriced).
• Upvotes: Your upvotes on comments you find helpful.
• Listing IDs: Zillow Property IDs (ZPIDs) associated with your activity to link content to specific listings.

3. Technical Information

• Timestamps: When you post comments, replies, or cast votes.
• Extension Version: For debugging and support purposes only.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

1. Provide Core Features: Display your comments, replies, and votes; authenticate your account; and link your content to specific property listings.
2. Generate AI Insights: Use property information (not your personal data) to create helpful AI-generated comments for new listings using Google Gemini API.
3. Improve the Service: Monitor for abuse, debug technical issues, and analyze usage patterns to improve user experience.
4. Community Moderation: Maintain a safe and respectful community environment.

Data Storage and Third-Party Services

• Supabase (Database): Your comments, votes, username, and activity are stored securely in Supabase. View Supabase Privacy Policy
• Google OAuth (Authentication): We use Google's OAuth 2.0 for secure sign-in. Your email is used only for authentication. View Google Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini API (AI Comments): Property listing details are sent to Gemini to generate helpful AI comments. No personal user information is ever sent. View Google AI Privacy

What We Don't Collect

We do not collect:

• Your browsing history outside of Zillow listings you interact with
• Personal information beyond your email (for authentication) and username
• Financial information
• Location data beyond what's inherent in the listings you view

Data Sharing and Visibility

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Here's what's visible:

• Public: Your username, comments, replies, and votes are publicly visible to all CrowdValue users
• Private: Your email address is NEVER publicly displayed or shared with other users
• Third Parties: We only share data with service providers necessary to operate the extension (Supabase for storage, Google for authentication and AI)

Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access Your Data: View all comments and votes you've made
• Edit Your Username: Change your display name at any time
• Delete Your Content: Remove your comments (note: upvote counts may remain for data integrity)
• Account Deletion: Request complete account deletion by contacting us
• Opt-Out: Stop data collection by uninstalling the extension

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/SSL)
• Secure authentication via Google OAuth 2.0
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies in our database

CrowdValue is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
